Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the RCO Awards?
Formerly known as the Ontario Waste Minimization Awards, the RCO Awards is Recycling Council of Ontario’s annual showcase that celebrates and recognizes the best application of the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) in the previous calendar year.
How does the RCO Awards process work?
Applicants register by contacting the Events Manager (email@example.com) and paying a registration fee. They will then receive a fillable PDF form for the category(ies) chosen. Applicants complete the award application and submit it to the Events Manager along with any relevant attachments.
Each award category has a judging team of seasoned waste industry professionals. Each application is reviewed individually by judges, who then collaborate to arrive at a final score.
Award winners will be announced at the RCO Awards Luncheon during Waste Reduction Week in Canada, October 19 - 25, 2015.
Is the data I include on my award application kept confidential?
Data submitted as part of an awards application is not shared with any other party or applicant and is securely archived at the end of each awards cycle.
All individuals connected to the preparation, handling and judging of awards applications are also required to sign a confidentiality agreement that safeguards the data provided to the RCO Awards, and adhere to the Code of Ethics for Environmental Auditors (CECAB).
